Welcome to our spacious, 1700 square feet home away from home! Three bedrooms, two bathrooms (two showers and a garden tub), and a kitchen filled with all the dishes, utensils and cookware you need to stay for as long as you need the break await your arrival - morning toast and coffee? grilled chicken for dinner (we have a grill!)? or maybe a batch of cookies to satisfy the sweet tooth? - all you need is here to prepare your best meals (you just bring the food). If you are looking to eat out - there are plenty of mom and pop, home-cooking options available in town, including a new specialty foods market and some amazing prepared smoked meals at Fork N Around. Want bigger food options? Both Houghton Lake and Higgins Lake are about a 20 minute drive from St. Helen, and there is always some fun going on there as well! Home cooked options bonus: the new favorite place for grocery shopping is only a couple of exits south in West Branch - Meijer - but St. Helen's own Louie's market is just down the street for when you need that last minute food item or just a bag of late night potato chips.
For the beach lovers, Cove Park Public Beach and boat launch are only 1.5 miles away, as well as fishing docks on Lake St. Helen - filled with pike, perch, bluegill and so much more! The kids can even catch the occasional crawfish at the beach when they aren't busy chasing minnows or playing with sand toys from the newly installed beach toys booth to borrow and return after your beach visit; for the lovers of off-road trail riding, there is a trailhead at the very entrance to our subdivision. And speaking of ORVs, if you have your own, we have plenty of driveway space for your trailers or small campers to rest in.
After a day of fun in the sun or on the trails, come home, relax by a big campfire, and roast some s'mores before getting a good night's sleep, recharging you for the next day's adventure! Bring your family and friends...our home sleeps 7 comfortably with enough space for an extra air mattress, too, which we provide along with both kitchen and bath linens, pillows, blankets along with minimal kitchen products and toiletries.
So, if you just need a break, want to experience the world of "up north, Michigan" not so far away from home, need a beach day or want to explore all the ORV trails have to offer, this is the place for you! Sip your coffee or cocktails on the front porch swing, breathe in the smell of fresh air and bonfires, and in the evenings enjoy the stars - diamonds in the sky! Summary: We had a great stay at this property. Really enjoyed the comfortable bed in the primary suite (the second king bed was quite firm) and the spaciousness of the rental. The place had everything you'd need to enjoy your stay comfortably. The outdoor space was nice but there wasn't a hose for the firepit as noted in the guest book instructions. The AC was nice as it was fairly warm one of the days to cool the house down before going to sleep. The host was rude in messaging so I docked a star. The VRBO site prompts PAYING GUESTS to request information to get into the house as well as WIFI info and when I followed instructions I got an unpleasant "per my previous message" response. Overall great place, great location.

Summary: Perfect location, easy access to the trails and plenty of parking for our rigs. Close to gas and groceries.We were up for a weekend of riding and had everything we could have needed and more.The house was very clean and well stocked with towels and bedding. Totally recommend! We will be back!

Summary: This is our second stay, and the host welcomed us back with popcorn, which we loved. The home is clean. The beds are comfortable. The Wi-Fi is reliable. Best of all is the LOCATION! Just west of Louie's in St. Helen, and directly across from a trailhead. Our favorite rental when we're in the area!

Summary: We enjoyed the side open space and the beds were comfortable. We had almost everything we needed (Could use a cookie sheet and a couple of non stick pans) but it was clean and a great location to the trails! We'll be back!

Summary: Lovely home with all the amenities. The bed was SO comfortable! The home was clean, and the owner was responsive when we needed help after the electronic keypad died unexpectedly. I would love to stay here again. Perfect place to rest after a fun day in the woods. Also, the trails are SUPER close!

Summary: My sister and I enjoyed our five day stay. The house was immaculately clean, well stocked with dishes, towels, and essentials. Beds were comfortable and neighborhood quiet. The living room light turning on when entering was great. The only hickup we had was several electrical breakers were off when we arrived, including the water heater and stove. Easy enough to solve and we had hot showers for the stay. Suggestions: - Mirror in back, left bedroom - Something for hanging clothes in the master bedroom (closet was locked, we assumed for owner's storage). - If electrical breakers, beside the well, need to be turned on, state that in the arrival instructions.

Summary: We had a relaxing time staying in St. Helen. It was a quiet neighborhood, and we enjoyed sitting out on the front porch. It was also close to a lot of good places for me to fly fish on the Au Sable River and it's branches. My 93-year old mother was able to come up for a few days, and she enjoyed Bronner's Christmas Store in Frankenmuth, as well as visiting Mackinac Island. Home was clean and well-maintained. The property manager was quick to respond when we had questions. We spent a month here to escape the August heat in Texas, and definitely enjoyed the cooler temperatures.
